Queen Marie Of Romania
The Exceptional
Destiny of Queen Victoria’s Niece
Born on 29th October 1875 in Eastwell, Kent, first daughter
of Duke Alfred of Edinburgh (Queen Victoria’s son)
and Duchess Maria Alexandrovna (Tsar Alexander II’s
daughter), she could have become King George V’s
wife if she had married that young man she had fallen
in love with, but her mother and Wilhelm II – the
German Emperor – meant her for young Ferdinand,
who was to become King of Romania.
Queen Marie went down in history as the most beautiful,
charming and beloved Queen of Romania and many great
places in Romania remind her extraordinary life.
